Yesterday, my mom, Jenn, and I went to Scrapbook Expo. I have to thank mom and Jenn because they endured getting up at the crack of dawn to make it to the convention center by 9am. This meant getting up at 7am, getting ready and getting to my house by 8:30am and making it before the long lines accumulated to buy tickets to enter the convention floors at opening. We arrived right on time at 9am and there were just a few people milling around the check-in tables. We walked directly to the cashiers, bought our tickets, put on our purple wristbands and made our way through the doors at exactly 9:10am. It wasn't too crowded yet so you could actually walk leisurely to each crafting booth without getting bumped by another shopper. Our plan of action was to head to the very left aisle and make our way down each aisle taking in everything to see.
One of our first stops was the SEI Scrapbooking vendor. We love this vendor and they always have the cutest papers and kits available. Mom and I participated in their "Make and Take". It was to make a 4 page mini circle album in either a vacation or holiday theme. We both chose the vacation theme. It consists of 4 chipboard circles and decorated with 4 different patterned / colored cardstock. The new "technique" shown here is decorating with iron-ons. You can use your standard iron or a travel iron.
Below is a pic of the iron-ons that we used for this make and take. It comes in a strip that is about 12-inches long, so there are plenty of designs to choose from. You just cut out the design you want and place it on your paper and iron for 20 seconds. After it cools for 20 seconds, you peel away the backing paper and voile...you now have a pretty felted design on your project.
Here is the semi completed album. I say semi completed because I want to add pictures to the backs of each page.
This make and take was alot of fun to do.
